Nurses and Allied Health Professionals from all over the country are interested in working with the teams in the Heart Centre.

Nurses from all over the country are interested in working with the teams in the Heart Centre.  Why?  They want to be part of a team that is internationally known and consistently on the cutting edge of advancements in cardiac care. And they want to experience the rich inter-professional environment at the Heart Centre. We offer a range of supportive initiatives for nurses to grow and develop as professionals:

  • Provide support for our nurses to pursue post-graduate specialty education in critical care

  • Support to attend cardiac conferences

Each year we send more nurses to cardiac conferences than most centres across the country.  We are committed to maintaining and expanding our nurses’ knowledge and clinical expertise. This year, the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress will be held in Toronto October 20th -23rd, 2018.  Heart Centre nurses can apply for funding to attend the conference by completing the application form below. 



Changes to rules - Where possible, we will specify a deadline date for submission of applications.  Please pay careful attention to the application deadline dates listed at the start of the application form which we will update as information becomes available.  If there is no deadline listed, your application MUST be received 12 weeks before the conference START date.  If this is impossible, please explain reasons why on the form in the designated area.
